What To Do in New York If You’ve Already Seen The Sights

New York is a city of big views and spectacular sights. From the Empire State Building to the Statue of Liberty, there are no end of elite landmarks to check out. But what happens once you’ve seen them all? Today, let’s run through four things you can do in the Big Apple which don’t involve heading to one of these spots of interest.

Grab a hot dog from Central Park

It might sound stereotypical, but there’s nothing better than taking a stroll through Central Park, chomping down on a flavorsome dog in a bun (don’t worry –  contrary to popular belief, these Frankfurter-inspired bites aren’t actually made from our canine friends).

While you could argue the park itself is something of a “sight”, the different winding paths and activities to get involved with here give people lots to do. As Timeout highlight, you’ll be able to:

  • Take a look around the Central Park Zoo
  • Walk around the Rambles
  • Sunbathe in Sheep Meadow

These really are just a handful of options. There are many out there to choose from.

See A Sports Team

Fancy catching the Yankees or the Mets in a game of baseball? Maybe you’re interested in watching the Jets or Giants going hammer and tong at each other on the (American) football field? Whatever the sport of your choice, 1cover recommend heading to a game and really immersing yourself in the American culture.

Grab some snacks, get a beer and put your feet up (maybe don’t do the last one if someone is sitting in the seat in front of you). Most importantly, remember to yell at the top of your lungs at the referee if the home team is inconvenienced in even the slightest way possible.

Catch A Show

New York, New York, it’s a hell of a town. If you’re a fan of singing and dancing, there’s no better place to turn to than the glitz and glamour of the Broadway stage. From the razzle dazzle of Chicago, to the stars of Les Miserables, you’ll be able to find a show which appeals to you. A personal favourite comes in the form of the Phantom of the Opera.

See The City From Above

As Viator handily point out, there are a number of different tours which give you a completely different view of the city to what you’d normally experience. From helicopters and planes, to something as extravagant as a hot air balloon, you’ll be able to view the magnificent skyline like never before.

Have these ideas given you inspiration when it comes to your next trip to NYC? Be sure to try them out when you’ve seen all the sights on your next adventure.
